Context: A Rabbi in DC had successfully launched and facilitated a democracy building program in which congregants studied American texts, engagee in dialogue across lines of difference, and reflected on their spiritual and civic identities. I was brought on as a strategic consultant and lead designer, charged with taking existing materials and formalizing, standardizing, and organizing in a user-friendly interface to scale the pilot program across the nation.

Process:

• Consulted client lead on end-to-end pilot program delivery strategy including logistics, design, recruitment, assessment strategy, and fundraising

• Reviewed 100+ pages of existing material, conducted extensive secondary research, revised and edited content, identified multi-media source material

• Created design and copy standards, designed visual identity, created standard lesson plan format

• Created e-learning hub, converted existing material into 6 standardized lessons, created in-depth facilitator guides, created print-out learning aids for participants

• Trained 11 Rabbis on the art and science of facilitation for cross-partisan and cross-cultural dialogue

• Designed program assessment strategy, created facilitator and participant assessment surveys

End Result:

The pilot program was successfully deployed across the nation
